Rio Olympics 2016 : Umar joins Dream Team in Brazil

Turkey-based Aminu Umar has joined Nigeria U-23 team in Manaus ahead of Sunday’s match against Sweden.

Aminu who plays forward for the team was unavailable for the Dream Team VI’s training tour in the USA, due to his club commitments.

The Media Officer of the team, Timi Ebikagboro announced his arrival via his twitter handle on Saturday.

The forward now completes the 18-man squad picked by Nigeria’s Olympic team Coach, Samson Siasia, for Rio 2016.

Timi Ebikagboro tweeted: “And Aminu Umar joins the rest of the squad in Manaus, we are now a very full house, let’s go.

“Umar arrived the Dream Team’s Tropical Hotel camp at about 11.34pm local time to the warm embrace of coach Siasia and team sec Sirajo.”

It can be recalled that the Dream Team VI in their opening match at the ongoing Rio Olympics, beat Japan 5-4 in their opening game and Umar will be hoping to help the squad to victory against Sweden on Sunday.
