The General Overseer of a church (name withheld) was on Thursday arrested by the Delta State Police Command, Asaba, for allegedly raping a seven-year-old daughter of his member.
Mrs. Celestina Kalu, the Pubic Relations Officer of the command disclosed that the suspect’s church is licated along Ibusa Road, Koka, Asaba.
According to Kalu, the cleric lured the girl into the church office to ‘pray’ for her but committed the act.
The victim after the incident, divulged what had happened to her parents.
The couple in turn immediately rushed their daughter to the Federal Medical Centre in Asaba.
The hospital report, according to the spokesman showed the girl had been raped and bruises were also discovered in her private parts.
Kalu added that on investigation, the suspect confessed to the crime and would soon be charged to court.
