The new Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2, Abdul-Majid Ali, on Monday promised to deploy robust intelligence in tackling the rising crime and criminality in Lagos and Ogun States.

“My mission is to have modern, people-oriented and effective policing of the command through community/public relations and robust intelligence,’’ Ali said on assumption of duty in Lagos.

The police chief also promised to mop up hoodlums in Ikorodu, Arepo, Igando, Ibafo and other adjoining areas.

“The command has zero tolerance for cultism and any officer that engages in hooliganism will be made to face the full wrath of the law,’’ he added.

Ali said that the police high command had already given matching orders to Commissioners of Police to perfect strategies to root out criminals in their states.
