Man docked over threat to life in Osun

A 25-year-old man, Aro Olabode Pius, was on Monday brought before an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court in Osun over alleged threat to life and assault.

The Prosecutor, Sgt. Rasak Olayiwola told the court that the accused committed the offence on July 26, at about 8:00p.m. along Idi-Iroko Meta, Oke Baale, Osogbo.

Olayiwola alleged that the accused threatened to kill one Bola Adedokun and assaulted her with his fist.

He told the court that the accused allegedly carted away some valuables belonging to the complainant which include recharge cards, cell phones and N6,000 cash.

The Prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 516, 351, 390(9) and 86(1) of the Criminal Code Cap 34, Vol. 11, Laws of Osun, 2003.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the four-count charge.

The Magistrate, Mrs Olowolagba Olubukola, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N100, 000 and two reliable sureties in the like sum.

Olubukola said the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction, with evidence of tax payment and should deposit two passport-sized photographs with the court.

The magistrate adjourned the case till Aug. 22, for mention.
