Juventus and France international Paul Pogba will become the world’s most expensive player this week if Manchester United agreed the record transfer deal, worth £110million.

Talks are said to be at a very advanced state and a deal appears imminent as Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola flew to Miami, United States to meet with his client and discuss the finer details. As part of the deal, Pogba will also earn another record £290,000 a week with bonuses.

The Mail Online reported that Juventus are willing to release the 23 year old player, who left Old Trafford four years ago.

The Italian giants on Saturday agreed to pay Napoli £78m for striker Gonzalo Higuain and there is a general acceptance from the Italians that, if United agree to pay the 20 per cent bonus due to Raiola and Pogba, which represents an additional £18.4m, they will allow the 23-year-old to return to Old Trafford.

Old Trafford’s move for Pogba has drawn criticism from former United legend, Paul Scholes who says Pogba simply isn’t worth the money.

‘For that sort of money, you want someone who is going to score 50 goals a season like Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi. Pogba is nowhere worth that kind of money yet,’ said Scholes.
