Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Oluranti Adebule on Tuesday said security agencies must do more to rescue Oba Yushau Oseni, the Oniba of Ibaland who was abducted by gunmen last Saturday.

Adebule, who spoke to journalists in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria urged law enforcement agencies to step up their duties and ensure that the monarch was rescued unhurt.

“To the law enforcement agencies, we know they are trying, which is why we have been enjoying peace in Lagos State, but they need to step up their intelligence gathering to fast track the rescue of the Oba,” she said.

She noted that as custodians of traditional norms and institution, royal fathers deserved honour and respects from all the citizens, adding that the state government was working hard with various security operatives to ensure safe rescue of the abducted oba.

Adebule also appealed to Lagosians to support and assist the police command with useful information that could lead to the rescue of the monarch.
