Gunmen suspected to be militants have invaded the Igbolomu and Ishawo areas of Ikorodu Local Government Area of Lagos State.
Vanguard reports that eyewitnesses who escaped from one of the invaded areas said the gunmen from the Niger Delta came through water channel since yesterday and have been shooting sporadically.
Also, the troubled communities of Elegbete, Imushin, Muti and environs of Ita-Oluwo, Ogijo, last night witnessed heavy shootings by the militants who according to reports are planning to organise a candlelight service for their departed soldiers.
The heavy shootings from last night have according to eyewitnesses left several people dead.
It would be recalled that gunmen suspected to be militants invaded the Elegbete communities last Friday at about 11pm and began to shoot sporadically which left no fewer than 13 people dead in the process.
