Relief has come the way of the former Deputy Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Tokunbo Oshin as his abducted wife and daughter have regained their freedom.

Mrs Nofisat Bola Oshin, a director of Information, Odogbolu local government area was on Thursday, June 2,2016 kidnapped alongside her daughter, Afolabi,15.

In a release Friday afternoon by the Police and signed by the Police spokesman, Deputy Superintendent of Police,DSP Muyiwa Adejobi,it was revealed that the duo were rescued early this morning.

Adejobi further informed that they have been re-united with their family members.

“The wife and the child of the former deputy speaker, Ogun state House of Assembly, Hon Oshin,who were kidnapped almost two weeks ago have been rescued.

“They have been re-united with the family. Kudos to the Police and those who assisted in the rescue operation”, the statement reads in part.

It was not stated if ransom was paid before they were released, but our correspondent can authoritatively report that the husband,an oil marketer,owner of Zipest filling stations in Ijebu Ode had contacted the abductor’s with N10 million last week, which the kidnappers turned down.

The abductors insisted on collecting N50 million as ransom for the woman and her young daughter.

As at the time of filing this report, it could not be ascertained how much was paid as ransom before they were released.

The police however expressed satisfaction with the husband, Hon. Tokunbo Oshin and the family members for their understanding and cooperation during their trying period.
