The cancellation, according to the organiser, is due to Islamophobic comments made by front man, Jesse Hughes, in a U.S. magazine.

“Being in total disagreement with Jesse Hughes’ recent sentiments given in an interview with an American media outlet, both Cabaret Vert and Rock en Seine festivals have decided to cancel the band’s performance,” the organizers said.

Eagles of Death Metal were having a performance at the Bataclan music hall in Paris on November 13, 2015 when it was targeted by Islamist extremists in a series of attacks.
