Police confirm killing of armed robber in Port Harcourt GRA

Rivers Police Command has confirmed the death of a suspected armed robber Jude Ihediachi of Ugwu Chukwu of Aniocha South local Government, Delta state, after a gun duel between the police and suspected armed robbers last night at new Port Harcourt GRA.

Ahmad Muhammad, DSP, the spokesman of the Rivers Police Command in a statement this morning said “It is no longer news that a new generation bank located in new GRA Port Harcourt was attacked on Wednesday 24/02/2016 and carted away yet to be ascertained amount of money.

The police said that while the hoodlums were escaping through Oroazi they were engaged in gun duel by policemen.

“The hoodlums having realized one of them was critically injured dumped him at a hospital where the police caught up with him and interrogated him before he gave up the ghost. “He gave his name as Jude Ihediachi of Ugwu Chuku, Aniocha South, Delta State,” a source said.

The Command appealed for information about persons with gunshot injuries because the pursuit of the fleeing hoodlums by the police is still ongoing.
