“We are not impressed with the work done. Few contractors are on site while only some are able to go beyond average performance with the funds given to them.

“It is not encouraging at all, the scoring of New Town Development Authority does not reflect what is on ground for contractors who have received above 50 percent of funds and left the work far from average,” Layode said urging residents of the state to be patient with the government.

He also expressed displeasure over the insincerity of the New Town Development Area, NTDA, supervising the project for giving wrong rating of the project to the committee.

According to him, the House will later pass a resolution on the report of the committee which will be based on the responses of all invited contractors.

The site engineer from NTDA, Mr. Idris Ojurongbe, told the committee that some of the contractors were playing smart while others stopped due to poor financing of the project.
