The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, has assured two Federal Government agencies, National Orientation Agency, NOA, and National Directorate of Employment, NDE, of police protection in the performance of their duties in Lagos State, western Nigeria.
He also promised to collaborate with them to ensure that they achieve their set goals of job creation and information dissemination on positive achievement of government including the good works of the police as an institution.
Owoseni stated this on Wednesday when officials of the two agencies led by their Lagos State directors paid him a courtesy visit at his office at the State Police Command, Ikeja, Lagos.
He noted that the two agencies are strategic for information and job creation which complements police primary function of providing security and prevention of crime in the state and Nigeria in general.
He stated that it was a normal police duty to provide security for them and promised to ensure adequate security for them in the state.
Owoseni urged NOA to live up to expectation to dis-orient Nigerians on the negative perception they have about the society.

According to him, “it is your duty to inform the public that Nigeria, indeed Lagos State, is safe to invest and conducive for business.”
He noted that there are false information on social media such as One Million Boys gang, cultism and other vices which the police have investigated.
He urged them to disseminate the information and inform the public that such things don’t exist and people should conduct their business without fear as they are secured in the state.
He assured NDE leaders that he would ensure that the police wives and children are involved in the barracks vocational training for skill acquisition for self employment for their benefit.
He thanked both agents for visiting him and presenting suvenirs.
The visit was led by NOA Director, Waheed Ishola, while Yemi Okunola led NDE team.
Earlier, Okunola informed Owoseni that NDE in the state has four-point agenda which they intend to accomplish. This agenda centres on women empowerment, vocational skill acquisition, rural agricultural programme and small scale enterprise.
On his part, Ishola said NOA has started grassroots mobilisation to change their negative perception about their own country and called for support.
