Lagos Deputy Gov condoles with Mobolaji Johnson over wife’s death

Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule, has paid a condolence visit to the former Military Governor of Lagos State, Brigadier General Mobolaji Johnson over the death of his wife, Mrs Funmilayo Mobolaji Johnson who died on Saturday at the age of 76.

Adebule, who was received by the children and family members of the first Military Governor of the state, described the late Mrs Funmilayo Mobolaji Johnson as a dedicated, pious and selfless individual who used her position in the society to impact positively on the lives of others, especially the less privileged members of the society.

While consoling the former military governor to take heart over the demise of his wife, Adebule noted that the legacy of uprightness, faithfulness, honesty and her commitment to a just and better society is a consolation that she has not died in vain.

She expressed her grief over the death of the former first lady of the state, saying “by her death, we have lost a selfless individual, a pillar of support and a mother who was a source of inspiration to all of us. We are all going to miss her dearly.’’

The Deputy Governor who simply wrote in the condolence register opened by the family, “Mama, continue to rest in peace,” expressed optimism that the late Mrs Funmilayo Mobolaji Johnson will have peaceful rest because of her kindness, good work and various contributions to the development of the society when she was alive.

The deceased was born on 6 December, 1939 and died Saturday night at a hospital in Lagos Island at 76 after a brief illness.
