National Drug Law Enforcement Agency on Thursday in Kaduna raided a popular drug addicts’ hideout at Sabon-Tasha, Kaduna area and arrested 25 suspected drug addicts and traffickers.

The suspects paraded at the Kaduna Command headquarters of the agency, according NDLEA Commander, allegedly confessed to the crime.

Parading the suspects, NDLEA Commander, Samuel Azige said, during the raid, both cracked and powder form of cocaine were recovered from the suspects.

According to him, preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects wrap the powdered cocaine and sell, while they heat and inhale the cracked one.

The NDLEA Commander, who said the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded, said the arrested suspects had constituted nuisance and engaged in all forms of vices in the area.

He, however, disclosed that “the agency identified the owner of the houses the suspects used and he told us that he had made efforts to secure his property against the addicts, but when he bough blocks to fence the house the boys packed the blocks and sold them.

“There is another house where they have completely sent the owner away. He had to relocate to another place because of their threat.

“In fact, people have put their houses for sale around the area due to insecurity caused by these people.”

While informing that drugs, including cocaine, Indian hemp, codeine, tramol among others were recovered, he said the agency is on the trail of another drug baron whose car loaded with drugs has been confiscated by NDLEA.

One of the suspects, Barret Salihu, 22, told journalists, “I don’t know why they arrested me, because I don’t sell wee-wee. I only take wee-wee (marijuana).

On why he takes ‘wee-wee’ , Salihu said, “when I take it I feel okay, but now, I have not taken it, and I am not feeling okay.”
