President Muhammed Buhari will arrive Ogun state Monday to commission some projects to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the creation of the Gateway state.

Ogun state will be forty on Wednesday, 3 February, 2016 and several activities have been lined up to mark the day.

The capital of the state, Abeokuta, and some cities in the state now wear a new look in preparation for the celebration of the historic event.

Presidential advance team h arrived the state since Saturday, moving round the projects to ascertain the level of readiness for commissioning.

Our correspondent reports that the team led by an engineer expressed satisfaction with the quality of the projects.

There is going to be a special executive council meeting on Monday morning, where all the past governors and military administrators will be part of the special state executive council meeting.

According to the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Barr. Taiwo Adeoluwa, all of the past leaders who are still alive have been contacted and they have expressed readiness to be part of the historic event.

Others, according to the SSG that will be part of the special session include the past Heads of Service, HoS and past SSGs.
At the time of this report, three former military governors of the state have arrved for the meeting. They are General Oladipo Diya, Sam Ewang and Daniel Akintonde.

Also, this will be replicated at the legislative house where all the past Speakers will be part of the special sitting marking the historic 40th anniversary of the state.

According to the details of the programme, President Buhari will arrive the state Monday at about 5pm and will move straight to Ijebu Ode, where the Mobalufon bridge will be commissioned.

The President, according to the itinerary, will have a stop over at the Awujale’s palace to pay courtesy visit to the monarch, the Awujale and Paramount ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Alayeluwa (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona CFR.

Projects to be commissioned along the Ogun East Senatorial District axis of the state are: Lagos garage flyover and Phase one of the Folagbade-Ibadan road, both in Ijebu Ode.

Other projects to be commissioned are Sagamu bridge, Oba Erinwole road, Model schools at Ago Iwoye and Ikenne among others.

The Presidential train will move to Ogun Central on Tuesday to continue the commissioning of various projects around the town.

As at the time of filling this report, security has been beefed up in all parts of the state.

All is now set for the special session of the executive council as some leaders and elders in the state have arrived the State Secretariat, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.
