No word has been heard from former Ogun State Secretary of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria, RTEAN, Alhaji Sirajudeen Olayinka Oshikoya, who was abducted along Kobape road near Paramount FM station, Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital, on Tuesday.

Oshikoya, popularly called Agbonmiyan, was on his way to Abeokuta from Ijebu Ode alongside his younger brother, Abolore, who drove his vehicle when the incident happened.

Information gathered revealed that the abductors were six in number and were seen in the premises of the Ansar Ud Deen mosque, Ota, Ijebu Ode earlier in the morning of that same day,asking for the Mission house and the mosque secretariat from one of the security men.

Alhaji Oshikoya hails from Ijebu Ode and he is the current Chairman of Ansar Ud Deen Society of Nigeria, Ijebu Ode branch.

Narrating the incident to our correspondent, a member who pleaded anonymity, disclosed that the abductors are yet to contact either the society or his family members on likely ransom to be paid for him to regain his freedom.

According to the member, “what we were told by his younger brother, Abolore who drove him to Abeokuta on that day was that they were on their way to Abeokuta around 10:15 am and when they close to Abeokuta, jus a few kilometres after Paramount radio station, Alhaji said he wanted to urinate and he parked beside the road.

“As he was urinating, two men alighted from a car parked in front of their car and went directly to meet Abolore inside the car. They ordered him to remain calm and cooperate with them and threatened to kill him if he acted funny.

“Two other men walked up to Alhaji where he was urinating and marched him to their waiting car. He said that Alhaji tried to resist them but they warned him not to try them, else, they will shoot his ‘driver’.

“The vehicle later moved a bit forward and turned around opposite Laderin junction, Kobape road and drove towards Siun.

”The two guys inside the car with Abolore later dropped off and joined other members in their car and drove away,” the source narrated.

Our correspondent reliably gathered that Abolore immediately called the Missioner of Ansar Ud Deen Society, Ijebu Ode, Alhaji Imam Hussein Kehinde Oredipe Mustapha on phone to inform him about the incident.

It was further gathered that the family had gone to report the matter at the police station.

The Missioner confirmed to our correspondent that complaint had been made at a police station in Abeokuta, being the jurisdiction where the abduction occurred.

The cleric also informed that they are yet to get any information about his whereabouts from his abductors and appealed to them to release the man without any further delay.

Findings revealed that the society had since Tuesday, embarked on prayer session for the quick release of their Chairman, who many described as a devoted and fine gentleman.

Many members expressed shock over the incident, wondering what could have led to the abduction of the man.
