UNIBEN matriculates 10,353 students

Authorities of University of Benin, UNIBEN, on Friday conducted matriculation ceremony for 10, 353 students who were offered provisional admission by the university to study various courses during the 2015/2016 academic session.

In his remarks at the ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Faraday Orumwense, disclosed that 28, 400 out of the 30, 400 students who applied for various courses in the University, sat for the mandatory computer based Post UTME screening exercise conducted by the institution.

Orumwense who urged the matriculating students to work hard in order to achieve their dreams, tasked them to leverage on “the the solid reputation of the Institution” by shunning vices such as cultism, prostitution and examinations malpractices, adding that, “obedience to the rules and regulations of this institution is mandatory.”

“From the foregoing, it is therefore left for you as fresh men and women to remain in this great citadel of learning and be a part of history, or gamble with this rare privilege through acts of omission and commission,” he said.
