The Executive Secretary of Somolu Local Government, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, Engr. Abiodun Orekoya, has urged residents who abandon their vehicles on the road to remove them. He also warned street urchins to desist from disturbing contractors with ‘Owo Omo onile’ (money for land owners) as the local government flagged off roads repair in the council area.

The two streets to be reconstructed by the council with drainages are Anifowoshe and Okesuna.

Addressing stakeholders in each of the streets, Orekoya stated that the council will not tolerate the activities of area boys who go about disturbing contractors for money.

He said further that if completed, Anifowoshe road will reduce the pressure on the major roads in the area as it will be a link between Somolu and Bariga.

He urged residents of both streets to cooperate with the contractors handling the projects.
