NSCDC job scammer arrested with fake appointment letter in Ogun

Nemesis caught up with one Inusa Ali, 36, native of Borno, northeastern part of Nigeria, as he was arrested for duping one, Oluwaseye to the tune of N124,000 (one hundred and twenty four thousand naira only) under the guise of getting him a job with the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC.

The suspect, who resides at No 15, Anifowose Street, Amolasho,Kuto, Abeokuta, Ogun state was arrested on Tuesday, 5 January, 2016 by the police detectives attached to Abeokuta Area Command.

Inusa Ali, who has made useful statement to the police, was also arrested in possession of a forged letter of appointment to the victim.

In a release issued Friday morning and signed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the suspect criminal act has been reported to the Area Commander in charge of Abeokuta metropolis.

Several other forged letter of appointment and other documents were recovered from him.

According to the statement, “The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State, CP Abdulmajid Ali has directed that the suspect be charged to court immediately.

“He further stated that members of the public should be aware of such unscrupulous elements who are scammers and perpetual criminals.

“The police boss warns that the police command will not tolerate any act of criminality and extortion of innocent Nigerians in this manner”, Adejobi said.

The State Police boss, CP Abdulmajid Ali, however,used the opportunity to clear the air on the rumour going round that the police recruitment has commenced.

Ali declared that nothing of such is happening for now, advicing members of the public to be careful and avoid similar criminal act of scamming or extortion.

He said, “The Police Command will make proper announcement when we commence our recruitment exercise.”

Also,the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of zone 2, (Lagos and Ogun),DIG Bala Katsina will be in Abeokuta,the Ogun state capital this morning.

Our correspondent reliably gathered that the Police boss will be visiting the Stella Obasanjo Motherless Babies Home, GRA, Ibara,Abeokuta to donate gifts to them.
