How dance instructor Cynthia Shallom emerged Next Movie Star 2015 winner

Early this week, Cynthia Shalom, 27-year-old Nigerian model and dance instructor emerged the winner of the 2015 edition of the Next Movie Star.

The budding actress beat 15 other housemates to emerge winner of the coveted crown.

She went home with the star prize, a brand new SUV, management deal, movie contract for three years and mouthwatering wardrobe allowance.

Tunji Adeoye emerged the first runner up; Sandra Ifudu, was the second runner up and Ghana’s Esau Owusu the third runner Up.

Excited Cynthia, speaking on her success, said it’s a humbling experience emerging winner of Next Movie Star 2015.

“Getting the form from the beginning, going for audition, getting picked, came to the house for the show now I’m the winner. I have all reasons to be happy and excited,” she said.

According to her, she never anticipated that she would win at any point because all the people that went for the audition, both in Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria, were talented.

“When we got into the house, I saw different talents but I think what gave me an edge over them was my versatility. I’m a dancer, singer, instructor, a good cook and model. But before I moved down here, I said to myself, it is either I win or nothing at all,” Cynthia added.

Sola Fajobi, CEO, Digital Interactive Media, DIM and executive producer, The Next Movie Star, described this year’s edition as a very rewarding experience.

The Next Movie Star Reality TV Show 2015 Edition tagged ‘The Game Changer’ kicked off on various TV stations across Nigeria in the last week of November. Housemates were selected from Nigeria and several African countries.

The reality TV show has over the years discovered successful stars in the Africa entertainment industry since it made its debut in 2005.

They include Tonto Dikeh, Annie Idibia, Kelvin Chuwang Pam, Portia Yamahan, Uti Nwachukwu, Lydia Forson, Karen Igho, Tamara Eteimo, Tomiwa Kukoyi, Halimat Aitsegame, Boma Mac Ake, Zerziyia Wilson and others.
