1.3m voters to participate in Kogi guber poll

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed that 1,397, 786 voters will participate in the governorship election holding in Kogi on November 21.

Mr Daniel Kure, the Director, Voter Education and Publicity, INEC, disclosed this in an interview with the NAN in Lokoja on Friday.

He said that the number included the 47, 389 voters newly registered during the continuous voter registration held in September.

Kure said that the distribution of permanent voter cards to the newly registered voters will commence on November 9 and end on November 20.

The Director told NAN that old registrants, who are yet to collect their voter cards, should come out and collect them.

He said that only voters with permanent voter card will be allowed to vote on the election day, adding that card reader machine will also be deployed for the election.
