Nigeria (Pro) Wrestling Federation (NWF) has concluded plans to honour Chief (Mrs) Oluremi Tinubu with an nternational championship which will take place in Lagos very soon.
Mrs. Tinubu, is the Senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District. She is also the wife of the National Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu.
According to the President of the NWF, Prince Olanrewaju Mohammed, the wrestling tournament will attract stars across the world.
“We have put in place a Local Organising Committee (LOC) with people in politics and sports in Lagos. This is a tournament which will be staged at different centres within Lagos Central Senatorial District as we plan to showcase the best of professional wrestling to the people in the grassroots..
“One of the reasons we want to honour our dear Senator is that she has been a woman of virtue who is so humble and love serving her people. We are celebrating an amazon whose love for her people knows no bound. We are packaging this intercontinental wrestling championship to celebrate our dear Senator for her contributions to the development of our society.
“The event is going to generate a lot of excitement among the youths of the Senatorial District because, apart from the wrestling bouts, we will be having beauty contest where our young ladies will showcase their natural endowment with a view to win handsome prizes. There will also be many side attractions during the competition, ” said the President.
