No division of the Federal High Court nationwide will be sitting this week as the court commenced new legal year on Monday in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital.
The new legal year was preceded with prayer simultaneously at both Lafia Central Mosque and Anglican Cathedral Church Lafia, Nasarawa state.
Among other activities lined up for the new legal year is Judges’ conference. All Judges of the courts in all the divisions of the courts will be in attendance for all the ceremonies.
Although no judge of the court will be sitting, other judicial officers in all the divisions of the court will be at their duty posts to attend to other judicial matters such as filing of new cases as well as giving new dates to cases that ought to have come up during the week which may no longer come up because of the activities heralding the new legal year.
However, normal judicial activities will resume next week Monday, 19 October, 2015 as the courts commence new legal year.
