Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state has appealed to Nigerians to support President Muhammadu Buhari’s quest to build a new society which will guarantee hope for the majority.

Oshiomhole made the appeal while speaking at the unveiling of a book, “This is my life, the journey so far,” an autobiography of Professor Emmanuel U Emovon, in Benin.

He noted that the country has a huge task in renewing hope in the younger generation.

“I think the greatest challenge we have today is to rebuild the society in which merit determines who gets what to encourage the young ones,” Oshiomhole declared.

He therefore, called for a repositioning of the country to a country where hard work will pay, a country run on the rule of law, where the rule of law and the rule of God hold sway.

While urging Nigerians to read the book and internalised its contents and make their contributions to the body of knowledge, the Governor noted that it takes a disciplined mind to document his life the way Prof. Emovon has done.

He recalled Prof. Emovon’s Vice-Chancellorship of the University of Jos and said his appointment was based on merit, adding “no matter what anyone will say, merit can take you to anywhere in the country.”

Governor Oshiomhole then launched the book on behalf of Edo people with the sum of N7 million, just as he launched it with the sum of N1 million each for himself, his children and members of the State Executive Council.
