Zain Asher’s ability to speak English fluently is not in doubt. Her ability to also dazzle when anchoring CNN Newsroom or Marketplace Africa is also not in doubt but what one may not know is her ability to speak her local language, Igbo, rather fluently.

Asked during an interview if she does consider herself a Nigerian, without flinching she said, “I’m 100 per cent Nigerian”. To back her claim, she reached out to her viewers in Igbo leaving everyone in the interview room agape.

The petit broadcaster was born in the United Kingdom but had two years of schooling in Nigeria, precisely in Enugu, Enugu State.
