Nigerian, Felix Adepinye, wins Ford’s Technician Challenge

A Nigerian, Felix Adepinye from Coscharis Motors has been announced as Ford Motor Company’s 2015 Technician of the Year following a Professional Technical Society (PTS) Technician Performance Challenge – a worldwide contest that rewards dealer technicians for their knowledge and skills, particularly their ability to fix it right the first time. The competition was held in South Korea, Sub-Saharan Africa, the Caribbean and Central America and spanned a seven-month period.

Adepinye, a Service Technician from Coscharis Motors earned points in several categories, including fixing it right the first time and performance improvement as well as technical training certification in a variety of programs.

On his triumph, Adepinye said “I am humbled to be acknowledged as the best service technician in Sub-Saharan Africa. I have worked in Coscharis for the past eight years and have made every effort to make the most of the training provided to me by putting my all into delivering the best service to Coscharis customers. I am very encouraged to see that the time and effort I have invested has added value to the Coscharis and Ford brands.”

The winners had the opportunity to travel to Dearborn, Michigan, to visit Ford Motor Company World Headquarters and meet Ford President and CEO Mark Fields, who presented them with certificates recognizing their accomplishments.

“This is a great event on multiple levels,” said Rob Johnston regional manager, Marketing, Sales and Service for Sub-Saharan Africa “It serves as an incentive to help sharpen the knowledge and skills of our technicians and encouraging them to fix it right the first time.”
