With barely less than a month to the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile, Coach of Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets, Emmanuel Amuneke, is pondering how he will win the first match of the competition against USA.

The World Cup holds from 17 October – 8 November, 2015.

The Eaglets will open their defence of the trophy won in the United Arab Emirates in 2013 against USA on the first day of the tournament at the Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos in Santiago De Chile.

They will play against the hosts, Chile on 20 October at the Estadio Sausalito in Vina Del Mar and the Croatians on 23 October at the Estadio Francisco Sanchez Rumoroso in Coquimbo.

Amuneke who leads his boy on training tour of Argentina Tuesday said he is busy preparing for the fixture against USA in the 16th edition of FIFA U-17 World Cup, adding that winning the first match will set the pace for a successful performance in the group stage of the tourney.

“In football what is good today becomes old tomorrow, so my concern is about strengthening the team with every game and giving our best. Right now it’s about preparing for the game against the USA,” Amuneke said.

The Golden Eaglets are defending champions and record holders in 1985, 1993, 2007 and 2013.
