Dismissing alleged rumours of death, Kaduna Governor , Nasiru El-Rufai has declared that he is alive, hale and hearty and vowed to continue to demolish houses built on school lands.

Addressing members of labour unions Thursday at gate of Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House, El-Rufai said that those who wished him dead were enemies of the state.

“You can see me standing before you. I am not dead. The reason why they want me dead was because of the 24 billion naira I discovered in several accounts in the state,” he stated.

According to El-Rufai, those that want him dead don’t know that if he dies, his deputy governor will continue to govern the state.

“They can go ahead with their fetish activities, I don’t care,” he said.

Meanwhile, he thanked the workers for their support and solidarity to the President and promised to deliver their message of support to the President.

However, El-Rufai who assured members of the labour unions his administration’s commitment to deliver good governance to the people through a sustained fight against corruption in the state, maintained that his government will not stop working until Kaduna is better.

According to him, the APC led-government is the government of the masses and is committed to see that everyone has equal privilege in the state.

“As a public officer and servant to the people, it is our responsibility to ensure that the right thing is always done,” he said.

The Governor also assured the state civil servants that their salaries will be paid before Eid-Kabir celebration.

He added, “we won’t wait for Federal Government’s monthly allocation.”

In his remark, the Kaduna State NLC Chairman, Comrade Adamu Ango, who represented the president of NLC, Ayuba Waba, said President Buhari and Governor El-Rufai are trusted and tested leaders, which informed the union’s decision to declare their total support for their policies aimed at ridding the country and Kaduna state of corruption.
