Martins predicts victory for Eagles in Tanzania

America-based Nigerian football star, Obafemi Martins, has predicted good outing for the Super Eagles in their away fixture against Tanzania in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match on 5 September.

Seattle Sounders forward and former Eagles’ lead striker, Martins said the Chief Coach, Sunday Oliseh has assembled a set of good players for the match, adding that with the likes of experienced goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama and striker Emmanuel Emenike in the squad, he foresees Nigeria winning the match.

Martins, who has scored 18 goals in 39 games for Nigeria hinted that the new Eagles led by Oliseh will beat Tanzania.

“I think the coach has chosen a good squad and hopefully Nigeria will win in Tanzania,” Martins said from his base in Seattle USA .

“We shouldn’t underrate any team in Africa for now,and I believe no minnows in world football anymore. I have seen the list, it contains very experienced players led by Emenike and Vincent Enyeama. I have the confidence that the Eagles will beat the Tafia Stars for us to come out top in the group, “ he said.

Nigeria and Egypt have three points each from Matchday 1 of the qualification series to be on top of Group G.

The Pharaohs have scored one more goal than Eagles and are slightly ahead following their 3-0 defeat of Tanzania in Cairo.
