The Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB), on Thursday released the names of the passengers on board the ill-fated Bristow Helicopter which plunged into the Lagoon on August 12 in Lagos.

A statement issued by the bureau’s General Manager, Public Affairs, Mr Tunji Oketunbi in Lagos, said manifest contained the names of the passengers and crew.

Those listed included: Ita Ekpeyong; Joshua Emekeme; Dolu Ebiejuara; Onoriode Onojete, Chukwuma Erise; Solomon Udeh and Chidi Ukwunta.

“Others are Iniala Opaimi; Chris Abua; Chukwudi Onah; Joseph Wyatt (Captain) and Peter Kayode Bello, (Co-Pilot),” it said.

NAN reports that six of the people on board had been confirmed dead, including two crew members, while six others survived.

The survivors according to the agency are Joshua Emekeme, Dolu Ebiejuara, Onoriode Onojete, Solomon Udeh, Iniala Opaimi and Chukwudi Onah.

They were said to be returning from an oil platform, when the accident happened at Oworonshoki area of the Third Mainland Bridge.

The statement said investigation was still ongoing to unravel what actually led to the crash.
