Ahead of its state congress scheduled to hold later this year, Edo State chapter of Labour Party (LP) Tuesday elected a nine-man Caretaker Committee to pilot the affairs of the party.

National Deputy Chairman (South-South) of the party, Bobo Atari-Adoy, who inaugurated the Committee at the party’s secretariat in Benin, disclosed that following the expiration of the state exco of the party, the national exco has received series of petitions from the state, hence the decision to constitute the caretaker committee.

He charged the committee “to oversee the affairs of the party in the state and to organise the state congresses” and make the party one that will take over the state in 2016.
