Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure on Sunday reclaimed their leadership of the 2014/2015 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) by beating Giwa FC of Jos 4-0.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the week 23 match played at the Ondo State Sports Complex in Akure saw Prince Aggreh scoring a hat-trick.

He scored in the 55th, 87th and 90th minutes, while Stephen Eze scored in the 69th minute for the hosts to move to 43 points from 23 matches.

The result moved the Akure side one place up from second place and above former leaders Enyimba International FC of Aba who are with 42 points.

Speaking later, Aggreh told newsmen he was dedicating the goals to his recent call-up to the Super Eagles camp, his first-ever call-up.

NAN reports that the Super Eagles’ handlers had recently called-up some players from the NPFL ahead of the 2017 AFCON Qualifier against Tanzania in September.

Aggreh also hailed his club striking partnership with the league’s leading goal scorer, Tunde Adeniji.

“With this, I am confident that we will win the league by the end of the season,’’ he said.
