No fewer than 112 internally displaced children from the Boko Haram onslaught living at the International Christian Centre camp in Edo state were Sunday reunited with their families.

The reunion was held during an emotionally laden luncheon hosted by the state governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

The 112 children were handed over to heads of 49 different families they belong.

Governor Oshiomhole who hosted the parents and children to a sumptuous launch at the Banquet Hall of the State Government House, urged the nation’s security agencies to intensified effort to bring insurgency in the northern part of the country to an end to enable families to come together.

The governor who expressed confidence in Buhari-led administration in tackling the Boko Haram menace, urged Nigerians to be their brothers keepers, irrespective of tribe, religion or creed.

One of the parents, Ali Yakubu, from Gwoza local government area of Borno state, who have 4 of the children, said he was lucky to be alive and to see his children, adding that he lost all his sibling to Boko Haram.

One of the victims reunited with their family members, Mrs. Justina Ali, thanked Governor Oshiomhole and founder of the camp, Pastor Solomon Folunrunsho for taking care of them at the camp.

Lukas Saidu, a parent also thanked the ‎governor for making Edo a home for the displaced persons. He further commended the governor for championing what he described as a true spirit of one Nigeria.

It would be recalled that Governor Oshiomhole had during his visit to the camp last week, donated 500 B/S of rice, 5 cows and other food items for the feeding of the camp inmates and also promised to build more classrooms and accommodation for the IDP.
