CD reiterates commitment to fight against injustice, corruption

Campaign for Democracy (CD), a pro-democracy advocacy group, on Saturday reiterated its commitment to fighting injustice and corruption in the country.

Mr Vincent Ezekweme, Chairman of the group in Anambra, gave the assurance in an interview with NAN in Onitsha.

Ezekweme, who spoke shortly after his re-election said “the CD has reiterated its commitment to continue to fight injustice and corruption at all levels.

“On my part, my stance against societal ills and anomalies had, once again, spoken for me in my re-election.

“As I again take the mantle of CD leadership in Anambra, I will remain committed to our mantra”.

Speaking at the event, Mr Uzor Uzor, South-East Chairman of CD, described the election of the new executive of the group in Anambra as “transparent and democratic”.

“We used the option A4 system to ensure transparency and the expectation is that the new executive will continue to strive for a better society.

“CD as a body will not relent in fighting corruption,” Uzor stressed.

NAN reports that Ekene Nnadi was elected Vice Chairman, Tobias Maduakor, Secretary; Chibuzo Ibe, Assistant Secretary and Ona Zacheus, Financial Secretary.

Other members of the new executive are Uzozie Augustine, Treasurer; Francis Nwoye, PRO and Mrs Augustina Maduakor, Welfare Officer.
