An overnight fire which razed the a Mechanic Village in Oke Afa area of Isolo, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria has killed three siblings in their sleep.

The fire was said to have broken out at midnight behind Jakande Estate, Oke Afa in Isolo while people were sleeping.

PM News gathered that there were houses and shops situated at the mechanic village and the children were sleeping in one of the houses when the fire broke in the village.

Director, Lagos State Fire Service, Rasak Fadipe confirmed the fire outbreak, saying that there were many shops, houses and vehicles in the mechanic village.

He disclosed that the Fire Stations from Isolo and Ikotun were mobilised to quel the fire, with each station providing trucks with 10,000 litres of water to fight the raging fire.

He disclosed that the fire incident was a tragedy as the fire roasted three siblings of the same parents in their sleep.

Fadipe said the ages of the children were five, seven and 12 years but he did not supply their names.

The fire service boss also disclosed that the fire consumed three vehicles, eight lock-up shops and a room and palour.

He further revealed that another fire outbreak was recorded around 5am on Friday at Travel Day Inn on Toyin Street, Ikeja.

Fadipe said fire also destroyed five lock-up shops and a part of the Divine International Hotel at Vion Street, Owode, Ajegunle in Ikorodu.
