The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Abdulmajid Ali, has again warned officers and men of the command against excessive use of force and unprofessional conduct.

The police boss gave the warning while addressing senior officers of the command during the statutory monthly mess gathering held at the Officers’ Mess, Ibara GRA, Abeokuta on Thursday.

In a release Thursday evening, signed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Ali emphasized the importance of adhering to ethics and code of conduct of the police, existing laws of the country and treaties of the United Nations for the use of Force and Firearms which could guide any police officer in discharging his duties without derailment.

Ali said any erring officer or police personnel who violates this directive would be made to face the full wrath of the law and will apply every legitimate means to deal with any inappropriate conduct amongst police personnel.

He assured the people of Ogun State of adequate security throughout the state.

During the event Ali directed the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Department of Training and Development, Ogun State Command, ACP Jude Azuka, who attended two workshops organized by the Embassy of Switzerland on Police and Human Rights and Police and the Use of Force held in Abuja to brief the gathering.
