The 10th edition of the Lagos State Inter-Agency Football Competition, tagged ‘2015 HOS Cup’ kicked off Monday with government agencies including local government councils and Local Council Developments Areas (MDAs) competing in the male and female categories.

According to the circular from the Office of Head of Service, the competition would take place at three venues across the state.

The venues are Opebi Primary School, Opebi, Olusosun Primary School, Oregun and Agidingbi Primary School, Agidingbi, Ikeja.

The circular added that participating male teams would play their matches at the Opebi Primary School, Opebi, and Olusosun Primary School, Oregun, while Agidingbi Primary School, Agidingbi, would host female participating teams.

The competition was introduced in 2006 by the Office of the Head of Service to provide avenue for recreation and social interaction amongst public servants in the state and had since become an annual event in the calendar of the state public service.

Previous winners of the competition in the male category included the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Social Development, (2006); Ministry of Information and Strategy (2007); Lagos Television, LTV, (2008); Lagos State Judiciary (2009); Ministry of Transportation (2010 & 2014); Lagos Judiciary (2011); and State Universal Basic Education Board (2012 & 2013).

In the female category, the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Social Development won the cup in (2006); Office of Chief of Staff (2007); Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (2009); State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) in 2010 & 2011; Ministry of the Environment (2012) and the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) in 2013 & 2014.
