Boko Haram: Dankwambo urges public to be vigilant

Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State on Friday urged people in the state to be vigilant to avoid future attacks by insurgents.

Dankwambo gave the advise during a visit to the scene of the multiple bomb blasts in Gombe.

A Wednesday night twin blast at Dadin/Kowa and Dukku motor parks, Gombe metropolis, left 36 people dead and more than 100 injured.

The governor called on residents of the town to be prayerful and seek divine protection of lives and property.

He directed the management of parks and other public building to be using metal detectors to screen people partonising such places.

The governor said the state government would settle medical bills of the victims.

Dankwambo had earlier visited victims of the blast at the Federal Teaching Hospital, where he donated N2 million to
them as pocket money.

He also promised to give N500,000 to families of Malam Umar Mailemo, who lost his life while trying to save his children and N250,000 as capital to the elder son of Malam Mohammed Fada-Maishayi to enable him take care of his brothers.
