Globacom has received kudos for its “one free minute call” offer to subscribers for three minute-call they make in the 200 per cent bonus airtime for calls to all networks.
Subscribers who spoke on the offer said the “free minute” was commendable as it had helped them make significant savings on call cost and also enhanced their ability to keep in touch with their friends and family members.
Cynthia James, a student of the University of Jos who is a beneficiary of the bonus offer, said that the extra call time had given her the opportunity of calling her folks first thing in the morning and last thing at night.
She added, “It is like I am living at home in Lagos as I get updated regularly about happenings at home. This is quite encouraging. Thumbs up, Glo!”
In the same vein, Osamuadiamen Oghogho, a fabrics merchant at the Upper Market, Benin City, said the Glo free one minute call after three minutes helps her in business as she now calls her customers freely.
“As a business woman, I know what it means when somebody gives you anything free and I want to sincerely appreciate Globacom for all the free minutes it has given to me since I started using this package. Glo is indeed the network of the people.”
A resident of Elebu in the Ring Road area of Ibadan, Oyo State, Mrs Toyin Famakinwa, on her part said, “I have been enjoying this service for about a month now. It has kept me in touch with all my three children in boarding house and this new bonus has helped to reduce cost of calls. The extra one minute after three minutes is quite a big deal for people who talk frequently on phone.”
Harrison Edwards, a Port Harcourt-based civil servant, said it was his son who drew his attention to the package.
According to her, “since I hooked up to the service, I discovered that I am no longer in a hurry to end my calls because I have a mental feeling of a free call coming in after every three minutes of call I make. Glo has done so many wonderful things, but this package is in a class of its own and I give kudos to the company for always remembering its subscribers.”
Another subscriber, Abubakar Tanimu, who resides in Kaduna, observed that the free one minute package had assisted him greatly in transacting his national haulage business by giving him extra call time to track his drivers across the country.

Globacom’s Regional Chief Marketing Officer, Ashok Israni, at the recent launch of 200 per cent Bonus offer, disclosed that any recharge of N200 and above would give the subscriber 200 percent bonus airtime which could be used to call any network any time of the day within seven days in addition to the free one minute for every three minutes call.
Subscribers are equally entitled to extra N200 which they can use to call 10 family and friends, adding that the Family and Friends feature can be set up by dialing *101*1*phone number of the family or friend#.
Israni encouraged Nigerians to make Globacom their preferred telecommunication network to avail themselves the delightful experience, adding that the subscriber also gets 15MB of data instantly while loading N100 which will attract instant bonus of 100 percent and 5MB of data.
