Slain Iyaloja: Ogun CP promises to arrest killers within a week

Barely 24 hours after assumption of office as new Commissioner of Police in Ogun state, CP Abdulmajid Ali, has assured the family members of late Chief (Mrs) Alimot Sadiat Kareem Owogold, 82, a.k.a. Mama Elewuju and the people of Ogun state of adequate and prompt investigation into the murder of the slain market womens’ leader.

He also promised to apprehend the culprits within one week as all hands will be on deck to unravel the killing.

Ali stated this when he visited the Ijebu-Ode home of the slain Iyaloja of Ijebu Ode, who was attacked and killed by some hoodlums on Wednesday evening in her house located at Sabo-Itanrin area, Ijebu ode.

The Commissioner of Police was accompanied by DCP Shina Olukolu, the deputy commissioner of police in charge Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Eleweran, Abeokuta; DCP Bello Makwashi, deputy commissioner of police in charge of Department of Operations and the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi and other top officers.

The CP arrived the house of the deceased at Sabo, Ijebu Ode on Friday morning to commiserate with the family of the late Iyaloja.

In a release signed by the Police spokesman, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, he stated that the CP, Abdulmajid Ali has promised the people of Ogun state of adequate protection of lives and property now that he has taken over the mantle of leadership of the command.

It was further stated that the CP has immediately ordered the deployment of additional anti-crime team including anti-cultism and kidnapping, anti robbery, Special Anti Robbery (SARS) and Operation Safer Highway.

Responding on behalf of the family, the younger brother to the deceased, Alhaji Gani Sote, appreciated the command for its support and commitment.

“I confessed that I never liked the Police, but you people surprised and tripped me,now I am in love with the police,” Sote posited.

Another sibling, Mr Omololu Lawal, also commended the Commissioner of Police and the entire command for their professionalism and assurances of arresting the culprits.
