South West Zonal Caucus of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has denied a report published online and titled: “APC South West Frowns At Buhari’s Tribal Appointments Pattern and Reject Saraki, Dogara Election”.

In a statement issued by Ayo Afolabi, Director of Publicity, APC South West Zonal Caucus, it said: “The attention of the South West Zonal Caucus of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has been drawn to an online news item with the above caption purported to have been issued by the chairmen of the party in the zone expressing their anger and displeasure to the recent appointments by President Muhammadu Buhari.

“The said news item also claimed that the Caucus vowed not to recognize the emergence of Bukola Saraki and Dogara as Senate President and House of Representative Speaker.

“The South West Zonal Caucus of the APC, made up of all national officers, the chairmen of the six states and zonal officers of the zone remain and is so recognized by the constitution of the party as the only body that speaks for the South West Zone.

“We in the South West zone of this great party wish to state that the ‘Breaking News’ as headlined above is false in its entirety, embarrassing in its content and did not emanate from the chairmen of our party in the zone.

“We are very much aware that hack writers whose sponsors are the beneficiaries of the crisis in the National Assembly are capable of pushing out such bellicose news items that has no bearings to the realities in the zone to please their masters. Mischief makers and fiction writers are therefore advised to keep off the zone.

“The Southwest zone as a foundation pillar of the APC will not be a party to the dismantling of the house it joined other patriotic Nigerians to build. We also in the South West Caucus want to emphasize our belief in the ability of the party to handle whatever problems that might have arisen as we are strict adherents of party supremacy and discipline.

“We reiterate our belief in the leadership in the zone as represented in Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and like to assure our teeming supporters that this great party will deliver the ‘change’ that Nigerians demand and casted their votes for,” the statement read.
