Immediate past President of the Senate, David Mark, on Saturday called for the review of the nation’s education curriculum in order to meet the needs of challenging times.

Mark made the call in a statement issued in Abuja by his Media Assistant, Mr Paul Mumeh on Saturday.

He said that there was the need to move from traditional theoretical education to practical solutions to problems.

According to the statement, Mark made the call at the 2015 graduation ceremony of El-Amin International School, Minna, Niger.

He said that such a review would equip the students with the basic critical thinking skills that would them make sense of the world around them.

“This proposal will adequately equip and empower students with knowledge, discipline and independence with potential to become great leaders in Nigeria tomorrow,” he said.

Mark told the graduates that their journeys into adulthood had just begun, adding that, “you will have to work exceedingly hard to be successful in your future career.”

“You will have to strive hard to reach the standards of your role models and even surpass them,” he said.

Mark urged them to always reflect on good attributes and to harp on those positive things that bring peace, unity and progress to Nigeria at all times.

Former Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar, in his remarks told the graduating students that the future of Nigeria rested with youths.

He urged them to follow the path of honesty, honour and integrity in the pursuit of their career in the years ahead.
