Against the backdrop of the leadership crisis rocking the National Assembly and the call by some governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the national chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie Oyegun, to resign his position over bribery allegation, stakeholders of the party have been warned to be cautious in handling the crisis to avoid plunging into the mistakes made by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The APC members were also urged to remember that the management of victory is very crucial in running a good democratic government and sustaining it.

Chairman of the group, Prince Solomon Ebuwa, in a statement issued in Benin, capital of Edo state, appealed to the entire membership of the APC to shun any tendency that would undermine public interest but to form a platform on which public confidence would be built.

“The change envisaged by the Nigerian people cannot be effectively realized and institutionalized if the governing party does not conduct its affairs differently from the past,” it said.

While commending Mr. Femi Gbajiabiamila for throwing his personal interest to the wind and embracing national interest by supporting Mr. Yakubu Dogara’s election as the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the group added that his action can best be described as worthy of emulation.

It therefore called on Senator Lawan and his group in the Senate to emulate the sterling quality of Mr. Femi Gbajiabiaila and put national interest above personal interest even as it advised the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara to avoid the philosophy of winners take it all and to ensure that those who were aggrieved were carried along with a view to creating unity and environment for positive change.
