Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno on Monday ordered the immediate construction of staff quarters for doctors and nurses at Auno Primary HealthCare Center, Konduga Local Government Area of the state.
Shettima gave the order while inspecting ongoing reconstruction and expansion works at the center in Auno village.
He said there was need to provide shelter for workers at the hospital to cater for those on night shift to address health needs of the villagers.
He said the quarters would encourage the medical workers by addressing their basic needs.
Shettima expressed satisfaction with the works being executed through through direct labour.
The governor directed the supervisor to renovate the primary school located beside the hospital within two months.
He also promised to extend the ongoing primary school feeding programme to include pupils in the village.
Shettima directed the ministry of Health to transfer beddings to the centre within two weeks in addition to the provision of other medical consumables.
