Nigerians in Diaspora have been called upon to return home and contribute their quota to the development and progress of the country and by extension, their states of origin.

The advice came from an Ijebu Ode-born, Philadelphia-based Public Administrator, Otunba (Dr) Owolabi Kehinde Alebiosu.

Alebious who spoke to our correspondent via telephone advised Nigerians abroad to return home with their wealth of experience to develop Africa’s biggest economy.

Alebiosu, who is the Bobadara of Ijebu Itele in Ijebu East local government commended the past governors of the state, reserving special praise for the present governor, Ibikunle Amosun for his giant stride in turning the state to a cynosure of all eyes.

He posited that for the country to get it right and better, it needs to put the square peg in the square hole, adding that, the country has enough human resources scattered all over the world.

Alebiosu, who is a former member of the Legislative Council and a former Supervisory Councillor for Works and Housing in Ijebu Ode local government in 1992 expressed dissatisfaction with the present situation in the country, where future of the youths is not certain.

According to him, “the situation back at home is worrisome but I would like to talk about my state, Ogun state. I think it is high time most of us who are outside the country should come back home and contribute our own quota to the development of the state.

“The first governor and the second in the state were journalists but the past governor was an engineer and the present governor is a Chartered Accountant. With this, all of them are professionals from their chosen profession and they have done their best to move the state to where we are today and we should all appreciate them.

“But I think those who understand Public Administration, who knows much about administration must also be involved in governance. We have many young and vibrant people who studied political science and other related courses but they must be part of governance so as to move this country forward.

“I think what we urgently need now is that the federal government must fix the NIPOST, PHCN, water and other basic need for the masses. I think what next after election is governance. The youth must be given top priority, you will agreed with me that the kidnappers are graduates and because their is no job in the country, they engage in this vices to make ends meet.

“If we we have a balance, responsive and responsible government and allow the system to work by fixing the right people in a right place, we would get it right in this country,” Alebiosu suggested.

Alebiosu while congratulating the state governor, Ibikunke Amosun and his deputy, Princess Yetunde Onanuga for their victory at the poll, advised them to ensure that more dividends of democracy are being felt more by the masses.
