Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike has ordered the immediate sack of the General Manager of Rivers State Broadcasting Corporation, Ms Mediline Tador.

In a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Opunabo Inko-Tariah, Mr Sampson Febresima, takes over immediately, as the General Manager of the Corporation.

Febresima was the zonal Manager of Silverbird Television and Radio Port Harcourt until his resignation months ago. No reasons were stated for the sack of Ms Tador.

Tador was once Commissioner for Information in the state, she was also a former editor with the defunct Daily Times in Lagos.

The new GM’s wife, Mrs Florence Fibresima of the Ministry of Justice was last week appointed Secretary of Judicial Commission of Inquiry that would investigate Governor Chibuike Amaechi.

Sampson Fiberisima stint in the Silverbird Radio and Television led to the growth of the broadcasting station in the region, making it a toast of its listeners in Rivers and environs. The reason for his resignation some months ago is unclear.

However, he is expected to bring his wealth of experience to Radio Rivers which wholly owned by the state government.
