The Managing Director of NNPC Retail Ltd, Mr Chris Osarumwense, on Friday implored all its retail outlets and owners of affiliate stations nationwide to maintain a high safety culture, in line with international best practices.

Osarumwense gave the plea at the commissioning of the NNPC Standard Service Station at Auchi, headquarters of the Etsako-West Local Government Area of Edo.
“NNPC Retail is established to ensure availability of unadulterated petroleum products.

“And I implore the retail filling station owners to ensure the safety of staff, customers and the general public in all their operations,” he said.

Osarumwense said that NNPC Retail Ltd is a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation saddled with the responsibility of retailing petroleum products across the country.

He said that the firm had constructed 580 NNPC stations across the country.

The NNPC retail MD, however, assured Nigerians of adequate supply of petroleum products nationwide.

He called on Nigerians to key into the use of liquefied petroleum gas as domestic fuel for cooking, describing it as a safer and cleaner fuel for cooking.

The Otaru of Auchi, Haliru Momoh, who commissioned the station, commended the NNPC management for bringing the station to the area.

Momoh said that the construction of the NNPC station was timely, due to the high increase in the sale of petroleum products by other filling stations in the area.
