A member representing Umuahia South in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Chijioke Nwachukwu, Eastern Nigeria has said that the 6th Abia House of Assembly will not be a rubber stamp of the executive.

In an interview with PM News correspondent shortly after the inauguration of the sixth (6th) Abia House of Assembly by the clerk of the House. Mr John Pedro Nnamdi Irokansi, he assured that the citizens will enjoy the dividend of democracy.

Nwachukwu who was elected into the Abia House of Assembly on the platform of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) further maintained that with the PDP having 13 members and APGA securing 11, it will not be business as usual in the House.

He stated that Abians will now witness a robust debate and virile 6th House of Assembly.

He noted that there is an effective opposition in Abia Assembly, unlike before when PDP won all 24 seats, adding that, PDP members will sit up.

The banker turned lawmaker commended the people of Umuahia South who elected him into office promising not to disappoint them in everything he does in the house.

He promised his people of the dividend of democracy, reassuring them that voting him was a step in the right direction.
