Unidentified gunmen this morning abducted the regent of Akungba Akoko township in Ondo State, Princess Mojisola Omosowon.
P.M.NEWS gathered that the princess who was going to attend the inaugural lecture of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, was abducted along Owo-Akure Road.
A palace source confirmed to an online news medium, Sahara Reporters, that the regent was kidnapped by masked men carrying guns.
“The regent was kidnapped on her way to FUTA in Akure, where she was officially invited to attend the inaugural lecture of the university. The gunmen wore masks and ordered her to enter into a waiting vehicle.
“They shot in the air to scare away travellers on the road. The kidnap was well coordinated,” the palace source said.
The kidnappers, it was learnt, also abducted the driver of the school bus that came to pick her for the lecture.
