Ahead of the 2016 governorship election in Edo state, former governor of Bayelsa state, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, has charged all indigenes of Edo state to support outgoing Senator Ehighie Uzamere in his ambition to contest the 2016 governorship race in the state.

Alamaseiyagha who gave the charge in Benin while giving a toast at the 60th birthday celebration of the Senator, noted that, Edo people could make Uzamere their governor, come 2016.

The former Bayelsa Governor described Uzamere who has represented Edo South Senatorial district for eight consecutive years, as a man who loves his people dearly.

“He should be governor of Edo State. Edo south has the vote. You can make it happen,” he urged.

n his speach, Senator Uzamere said he decided to reject the automatic ticket offered to him by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, because, according to him, he want others to grow politically and also aspire for elective positions.

Uzamere who disclosed that he would take three months rest before determining his political future, however pledged to work for the success of President Buhari’s administration.

“I have just finish eight years in the senate and I want to rest for three months. My eight years at the senate was turbulent. There were more challenges in the seventh senate because there was a lot of decamping and cross-carpeting that made the leadership sit very tight.

“Nigerians should support Buhari. Politics is over now. I will join hands with Buhari to offer my contributions. God will order my next move,” he said.
